Space Zlín 2013 ("Prostor Zlín 2013") is already a 6th edition of the art exhibition organised by the Regional Gallery of Fine Art in Zlín, highlighting a fine art in the public space. This year's edition of the triennale will take place at a very special place - in the former fabric zone of Baťa / Svit company, especially in the new residence of our gallery – in 14|15 Baťa institute.

The exceptional architecture, urbanism as well as the whole history of this place become an interesting material for artists from the generation which might experience the last changes personally. The fabrics which quite not so far in the past eructated tons of commodities not only for Czecho-Slowak socialistic republic but for the whole eastern bloc, with a few exceptions decayed for the last decades. A considerable part of the area began to transform into an administrative and cultural centre of the region only quite recently.
The previous triennal exhibition in 2010, titled “Prostor Z(i)lin(a)” (a play upon words “Zlín” with the name of the slowak city “Žilina”) has been focused on quite a very unobtrusive inputs which gave us a new view of the local urban area. These realisations had only a temporary character nevertheless.

This year´s exhibition is held on the background scenery of the finishing building and installation works on the Buildings 14 and 15. The artists are going to focus on the inspirative history of the place as well as on the medium of a sculpture.

The beginning of the preliminary phase of this event starts already on 16th April and artists Kama Sokolnicka (from Poland), artistic company Randomroutines (from Hungary), Martin Kochan (from Slovakia) and Petr Stanický (from Czech republic) take a part in the exhibition project.
