Zdeňka Saletová belongs to the middle generation of artists whose creative path is connected with the Zlín art scene. Although she has tended to sculpture from the beginning, her work is shaped on a much broader basis and is characterized by an extraordinary sensitivity for the combination of diverse art techniques and approaches. Traditional sculptural material appears here next to the fragile medium of paper, embossings are complemented by a demanding process of embroidery, subtle lines alternate with colorful painting inputs. Despite the variability of artistic methods, her work remains strongly internally coherent. It is based on spiritual concentration and, through fragments of reality penetrates into other dimensions in order to reveal the deeper principles of world formation.
