The Zlín Region and its memory institutions have created a unique project in the Czech Republic, providing digital access to a selection of remarkable documents from the collections of the Valašské Meziříčí Observatory, the Regional Gallery of Fine Arts in Zlín, the František Bartoš Regional Library in Zlín, the Museum of the Kroměříž Region, the Museum of the Valašsko Region in Vsetín, the Museum of South-East Moravia in Zlín and the Slovácko Museum in Uherské Hradiště.

Anyone interested in the region’s history can explore regional newspapers and magazines, books, artworks, maps and plans, as well as historical photographs and video footage. These resources have been made available through the digitisation of selected collections in recent years. Creating digital copies has helped preserve these documents and, in many cases, safeguard them for future generations. An important part of the project has also been cooperation with research libraries to compile complete runs of regional newspapers whose individual volumes or issues were not fully preserved in the region.

The new eBadatelna portal offers both the general public and researchers access to digitised documents, with the collection continuing to expand. Visitors can also explore virtual exhibitions and read articles about the collections held by the participating institutions.
